Hey all! Who subscribes to this service? Is reception good? Do you live in the city or country? Most importantly, which radio did you choose? Thanks all! I looked at the service about a year ago and didn't go with it. Maybe this year! They have the MLB! Oh and it is portible, if we go on a road trip, it can come along! How cool!
I subscribe to the service and I have the Skyfi 2 receiver. Reception seems to be very easy to get, and I am nowhere near any urban sites where repeaters are installed. I love the service. If you have any questions about it, send me a private message and we'll discuss it in more detail.
I, love, my, XM! I have the Sky-fi for the house with the sound kit, and i also have a MyFi for portable use with a magnet mount antenna! I don't have problems, even when I go to obscure places, which I do often! West Virginia even works!
XM absolutely rocks, I love it. I have a MyFi portable unit and the now discontinued XM Pcr which I don't use much anymore now that they have the online service but it helps in a pinch. Either way, XM absolutely rules and I would never go with the other company. Sirius just doesn't do it for me, sorry Howard fans!
I really enjoy xm a lot, though I was having some problems with reception at one point. But, I sort of motified my antenna and all is well now. As far as recievers go, I have the roadie 2, and like it a lot, but the reciever isn't as sensative as some other models, hense my need to make an antenna motification. But, now that I have it working, I'll probably never unsubscribe. Between all of the comercial free music, wide veriety of talk programming, and the NHL games, there's always more than one thing I wouldn't mind listening to. I have a friend who has cerious, so I've listened to it quite a bit, but I'd take xm over cerious anyday.
Hey all, thought I'd bring this topic back up to the top. Here's a question. I was reading that the antinna should be in a south facing window in the home. Well, this is no problem for me, but is it necessary to be right by the antinna? Will I receive reception all over the house? Thanks all!
Well, you have to hook your receiver to the antenna, yes. You can transmit the signal via FM, allowing reception anywhere in the house. Or you can, I think, get an extension cord to more conveniently place the receiver if need be. Also, if there are no repeaters in your city, you can buy one, place it and the antenna in the south facing window, and place the receiver wherever you wish in the house, connected to the repeater antenna. I have probably confused you by now.
Thinking about getting it. I have a friend who has it and I think it's awesome. Can you subscribe to the online version without buying the reciever? If so what is the website? Thanks.
Troy
Helo I'm just looking around. I love Xm radio vary much. I have a sterio recever but I want to get the online vertion. The website is Xmradio.com. It is so cool and they have added new chanels on menny times. I will go look at the site more. It is so cool but then, I love all kinds of music.
For those people who are new subscribers to XM, there is an 8-digit ID number that you must use to activate the radio. You may need help reading the number. It can be found on channel 0.
Well, I can't say enough good stuff about XM! They also have service in Canada now. There are several receivers from which to choose ranging from walkman-type to those which can be used in conjunction with home/car receivers. I like the Traffic and Weather Channels. I live in a major city in the East, and am fortunate that XM has traffic for us. My In-laws live in Florida, and in the summer of '04 when the urricanes were hitting them, they all lost power. I was getting them information from the traffic and weather channels, Fox and CNN. I'd print it out, and while they had juice in their cellphones, she was reading them the info.
